How to Install Any iOS Beta

Apple has previewed another new iOS to bring new features to your devices. However technically you can’t play with it until later in the year. I know, I know; you want it now. If you’re a techie like me you are probably wondering how can I get the beta early? How do I get all the cool new features before anyone else in my circle? There is no need to wait for the public beta. It is super simple to install the beta on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. I will show you how in just a few steps.

Gone are the days of downloading an .IPSW file and restoring your iOS device in iTunes. Apple now lets you simply install the iOS developer beta profile on to your device directly from Safari. That means you’ll be able to update your device to any beta directly from your System app and you’ll automatically receive future iOS beta updates going forward. To say this a lot easier than older methods is an understatement.

Enough of the chit chat. Here are the steps to do the install.

  1. Launch Safari on your iOS device.
  2. Go to betaprofiles.com
  3. Go down to your until you see your desired “iOSbeta”
  4. Click on the blue download button & approve the beta profile
  5. When asked, say yes to restart
  6. Once it starts  go to Settings > General > Software Update
  7. Download and install any new versions of iOS
  8. You’re welcome

If you have an Apple Watch use the same Steps 2-7 only after installing the latest iOS beta on your iPhone. NOTE: AppleWatch can not be downgraded without taking it to the Apple Store.
